Job Description

Are you excited about understanding, interpreting and delivering complex projects for clients? Are you motivated by creating sustainable change that benefits society and nature? Are you an enthusiastic team player, well organised and a good communicator?

Ramboll is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Industry & Infrastructure Facilities team in London.

You will lead complex, multidisciplinary projects from inception through design, delivery, commissioning and handover. Working with clients, engineers, designers, contractors and other specialists, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to a high standard.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Lead projects throughout the full lifecycle.
  • Manage scope, programme, budget, risk, quality and change.
  • Establish effective governance, reporting and project controls.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate technical interfaces.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and delivery partners.
  • Manage consultant, contractor and supplier performance.
  • Support procurement and contract-management activities.
  • Identify and manage risks, opportunities and dependencies.
  • Promote high standards of health, safety, quality and sustainability.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to the development of project-management practice.
  • Support client development, bids and proposals.

The projects:

You may work across projects involving:

  • Aviation
  • Rail
  • Energy
  • Transmission and distribution
  • Marine
  • Data centres
  • Other complex infrastructure and facilities

Experience in these sectors would be beneficial but is not essential. You must, however, have a genuine interest in working across these sectors and applying your project-management expertise in different technical and client environments

Role Requirements:

You will have:

  • Project and design management experience on complex projects in an engineering, construction, infrastructure, facilities or consultancy environment.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Strong capability in scope, programme, cost, risk, quality and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in project governance, reporting and project controls.
  • Commercial awareness and familiarity with construction or consultancy contracts.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • A relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience.

Membership of a professional body such as APM, CIOB, CIBSE or ICE is desirable but not essential.

Why Ramboll?

You will join a multidisciplinary Buildings organisation combining project management with engineering, design, sustainability and specialist technical expertise. The role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects, broaden your sector experience, develop others and contribute to infrastructure that creates lasting value. You will join the project management team in industry and infrastructure facilities during a period of growth as we strengthen our position in the sector.

Location: London UK, with a combination of office, home and project-based working. Travel may be required depending on project needs.
