About this opportunity
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a major construction programme in South London. This long-term contract opportunity involves overseeing mechanical installation activities across infrastructure, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards. Immediate or short-notice availability is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate mechanical works throughout the project lifecycle
- Review mechanical drawings, technical specifications and installation requirements
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works meet programme requirements
- Support quality assurance processes, inspections and commissioning activities
- Attend site meetings and provide progress updates to senior project stakeholders
- Coordinate with CSA, electrical and commissioning teams to support efficient project delivery
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements
Job Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or relevant mechanical trade background
- Experience delivering mechanical packages on data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical or large-scale industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, pipework and associated mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience working within fast-paced construction environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and installation practices
- Data centre project experience is highly desirable
Contract Details:
- Long-term contract supporting an ongoing programme of works
- Based in South London
- Immediate or short-notice start preferred
- Potential for further project opportunities upon completion
