About this opportunity

Chalk Hill Group is partnering with a large-scale organisation, based in Portsmouth, to recruit a Cash & Capital Accountant on a 9-month fixed-term basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly created role within a complex organisation undergoing significant change. Working closely with the Finance Director, you’ll play a key role in managing cash flow, liquidity and capital expenditure, helping to minimise financial risk and support ongoing integration activities.

This role would suit a commercially minded finance professional with strong cash flow modelling and forecasting experience, who enjoys improving processes, working with senior stakeholders and turning complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Cash flow & liquidity: Overseeing daily cash management and developing accurate short- and long-term cash flow forecasts, incorporating integration plans and changing business requirements.
  • Banking & funding: Managing relationships with banking partners and group-level stakeholders, overseeing credit facilities, banking fees and compliance with financing agreements.
  • Financial analysis & reporting: Producing cash flow variance analysis, monitoring net debt and covenant forecasts, and providing recommendations on funding requirements and cash utilisation.
  • Capital expenditure: Monitoring capital spend against budget, investigating variances and assessing the impact of changes to expenditure plans on future cash flow.
  • Process improvement: Enhancing cash flow forecasting and capital management processes, driving automation, strengthening financial controls and improving reporting accuracy.

About You

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Proven experience in cash flow management, forecasting and financial modelling within a complex, high-volume data environment.
  • A relevant professional qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or ACT/AMCT.
  • Strong analytical skills, including scenario modelling, variance analysis and covenant reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with senior finance leaders, banking partners and group-level stakeholders.
  • Experience improving financial processes, systems and controls.
  • Experience supporting a merger, refinancing or wider business integration would be advantageous.

What’s on Offer?

  • Hybrid working.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • Private medical and critical illness insurance.
  • Health and dental cash plans.
  • 24/7 virtual GP access and wellbeing benefits.
  • Employee Assistance Programme and life insurance.
  • Pension, financial wellbeing tools, cycle-to-work and electric vehicle schemes.
  • Training and development opportunities.

If you have strong cash flow forecasting and management experience and are looking for a role where you can make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
