Job Title: Bus Road Test Driver
Location: Ballymena, County Antrim
Duration: 6+ months
Pay Rate: £14.70 per hour + overtime
Start Date: ASAP
We are currently seeking experienced and reliable Bus Road Test Drivers to join a leading vehicle manufacturing facility in Ballymena.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers holding a Category D licence to play a key role in the testing and quality assurance of new vehicles before they enter service.
Working with a range of diesel, electric (EV) and hydrogen-powered buses, you will be responsible for carrying out road tests, identifying defects and ensuring vehicles meet the highest standards of safety, quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct road tests on newly manufactured buses.
* Assess vehicle performance, including steering, handling, braking, suspension and ride quality.
* Identify, record and report faults, defects or quality issues.
* Support vehicle preparation, including refuelling and charging activities where required.
* Ensure all vehicles meet operational and safety standards prior to customer delivery.
* Complete inspection documentation accurately and professionally.
Requirements:
* Valid Category D (CAT D) Driving Licence.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Strong awareness of vehicle safety and road regulations.
* Excellent attention to detail and reporting skills.
* Comfortable driving a range of vehicle types in varying road and weather conditions.
* Previous experience in bus driving, vehicle testing, automotive, manufacturing, or quality inspection environments would be advantageous.
Working Hours & Benefits:
* Monday to Thursday
* 7:00am – 5:00pm
* Overtime available
* Long-term contract (6+ months)
* Immediate starts available
