About this opportunity

Company Description

de Gournay is a distinguished family-owned company, founded in London in 1986, specializing in luxurious hand-painted and hand-embroidered wallcoverings, fabrics, and porcelain. With showrooms in key cities around the world, including New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Paris, Shanghai, and Beirut, we are synonymous with excellence in craftsmanship and design. As we continue to grow our operations in Beirut, we are looking for an architect or graphic designer with strong technical drawing skills and a keen eye for design to join our team.

Job Description

This role requires the ability to read architectural elevations and accurately translate them into scaled wall designs, ensuring that our hand-painted wallcoverings are seamlessly integrated into client spaces.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Interpret architectural elevations and room layouts, translating them into precise, scaled wall compositions.
  • Draft detailed wall elevations that align with production requirements, ensuring accurate panel distribution based on material constraints (height, width, and background properties).
  • Adapt de Gournay’s design miniatures onto architectural plans while maintaining proportion and balance.
  • Collaborate closely with our in-house team to refine design layouts.
  • Understand material limitations, ensuring designs are both aesthetic and technically feasible.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Strong technical drawing skills with the ability to read and interpret architectural elevations.
  • Experience with spatial design, proportion, and composition.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, or similar tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and time zones.
  • Experience in interior design, decorative arts, or luxury design is a plus but not required.
