The Role

As a Civil Engineer, you will work alongside an experienced team of engineers on a range of infrastructure and drainage schemes, contributing to projects from initial feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and delivery.

  • Using relevant design software to develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Liaising with colleagues, clients, local authorities and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, guidance and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting project delivery and managing design tasks to meet agreed deadlines.

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.

  • A good understanding of infrastructure design principles, including surface water and foul drainage.
  • Experience using relevant civil engineering design software, CAD, Civils 3D, microdrainage or infodrainage
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach and a desire to continue developing your engineering career.

Experience working on development-related infrastructure projects and knowledge of relevant drainage standards and design guidance would be particularly beneficial.

What’s on Offer?

  • A competitive salary, dependent on experience.
  • The opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of infrastructure and drainage projects.
  • A collaborative working environment with support from experienced engineers.
  • Opportunities to develop technical skills and take on increased project responsibility.
  • Support towards professional development and progression towards chartership, where applicable.
  • The chance to build your career within an established and growing engineering consultancy in Bedford.
