Position Summary:
The FO/MV Splicer will be responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cable systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring network reliability, maintaining signal quality, and supporting the smooth operation of communication infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables.
Conduct testing, fault identification, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks.
Operate OTDRs, power meters, light sources, and other fiber testing equipment.
Verify signal performance and network integrity after installation and maintenance activities.
Read and interpret network schematics, technical drawings, and splice plans.
Ensure proper cable routing, labeling, and organization in line with industry standards.
Follow established color-coding systems and cable management procedures.
Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues and cable faults efficiently.
Adhere to safety regulations and quality control requirements at all times.
Maintain accurate testing records, reports, and project documentation.
Candidate Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in fiber optic splicing and copper cable splicing.
Strong understanding of fiber optic network architecture and cabling systems.
Ability to interpret technical documents, splice diagrams, and network layouts.
Hands-on experience using OTDRs, power meters, and light source testing equipment.
Knowledge of cable color codes and industry-standard cable management practices.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams.
Fiber optic certifications or related technical qualifications will be considered an advantage.
Immediate availability is preferred.
